Parent Groups / Support Groups
  • Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Family Resource Center.
  • Parenting Seminars, Classes, Workshops at Anne Arundel Community College, The Parenting Center. Fees for workshops range from $35 and up. Examples of Workshops: Managing Sibling Rivalry, The Explosive Child, Making Blended Families Work.
  • Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Annapolis. Located at Mariners Church, in the Bay 50 Shopping centerMOPS exists to meet the needs of every mom who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs!  If you are interested in attending or helping out, please email Kim Barker or visit their website.
  • Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Edgewater. Located at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, located on 214 at the intersection of Beards Point Road. They meet at 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month. Stopy by to join in the fun, plus enjoy good food and crafts! They meetings usually go to about 9:00-9:30.
  • Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Davidsonville. Located at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035. Call 410-798-4868 or visit www.rtbcmops.org for more information.

    October 2, 2007: Fall Kick-off meeting.

    Moms who have children ranging from infancy through Kindergarten-aged are invited to join MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Riva Trace Baptist Church for a moms-only evening geared toward meeting the unique needs of women mothering young children. MOPS at Riva Trace Baptist Church meets the first Tuesday evening of the month at 6:45 p.m., October-June. It is a non-denominational, Christian organization where moms of any faith are welcome! Childcare is available upon reservation.
  • Professional Moms at Home (PMAH). Based in Anne Arundel County. Professional Moms at Home is a support group for moms who have chosen to stay home at least part-time to care for their children. PMAH offers weekly age-specific playgroups, play dates at local parks, field trips, holiday parties, and other special events for children. We also offer moms only activities, including moms' nights out events, educational seminars on family-oriented topics and community service projects.   • Moms Offering Moms Support, An international, non-profit support group for stay-at-home mothers, including those who have home based businesses and those who work part time but are at home with their children during the day.  They have clubs throughout Maryland.  MOMS Club of Bowie-South  and MOMS Club of Pasadena are two of the closest.  To locate others go here.
  • Bowie Area Dads, a Chapter of DC Metro Dads. A network of stay at home fathers, living in the Bowie area, who provide support to other stay at home fathers and fathers who are considering to stay at home. DCMetroDads, Bowie Area Dads.

Fitness

Stroller Strides of Annapolis. Stroller Strides classes are a great workout for moms and you can bring the babies! The first class is free and then the moms can decide which class pass is best for them. They also offer free playgroups, moms night out, etc..   • Winter Schedule: Monday-Friday from 9:00am-10:00am in Westfield Shoppingtown Mall in Annapolis (in front of Pottery Barn Kids).
